A Nigerian woman, identified simply as Ella, has called for justice following the death of her two-year-old daughter at Smiley Kids Montessori School, Lekki, Lagos.

Ella shared her ordeal in a series of posts on microblogging platform, X on Thursday, 16th January.

She explained that her daughter left for school on Wednesday but did not return alive.

She wrote, “Dear Lagos State Government, our daughter of two years old went to school yesterday (Wednesday) and did not return alive.

“How do you have a pool in school premises without proper monitoring? They lied she drowned in the pool, but we have been able to find out that it’s electrocution, and they dropped her in the pool to look as if it was drowning.”

Questioning the school’s safety measures, she wrote, “The pool has barricades. How can a child of two years climb? Please help us get justice for our baby. She just celebrated her second birthday November last year. She left home well for school on 15/1/2025 and never came back alive.”
